Congratulations!
I always have a heart on for you!

Thanks, Babe.
Yeah, that joke never gets old….
Tiring me out just LOOKING at all that stuff… Guess I’d best grab a beer to recuperate… Congrats Tracy for sticking at it…
Ha! Thanks, Bri!
I recently read that it is motivation that people lack, it is follow through. Looking at it from this side of things, I couldn’t agree more. It really IS just like the Nike commericial: “Just do it”. What they need to add is, “…especially on the days you’d rather not.”
Insert wolf whistle here!!! Great job!!!
*Blush*
Thanks much, Derrick! Not bad for an old lady, eh?
So awesome! I work out frequently but will never look like that, it’s amazing just how much time you need to invest to really get into shape. Great job!
Many, thanks Becky! I appreciate that!
I really owe much of it to Cathe Friedrich. I swear that woman is a genius! I don’t know exactly why her toning and ab workouts have been so effective for me (and why Denise Austin’s and others weren’t and I did them for years…such a waste of time and energy) but it must have something to do with the types of exercises Cathe does and the order. All I know is I have muscles and tone where I never had them before!
Heck, I figure I have another few years of this and then I can get really, really fat.
It looks effective
! I get along now – after I have been a gardener at work again – with hoe, spade, rake, shovel, wheelbarrow, hedge trimmer, chainsaw, and -, -, -, -, -, – ………………
Indeed, Truels! Thanks!
Well, then, I think that calls for a fitness portrait of your own with all your ‘workout’ gear!!
For a start I have just posted the view I have these days – attending a course about repairing gardening machines….:

Simply beautiful, Truels. I’d have a difficult time concentrating with views like that!
Hooray for you! Well done.
I especially owe you a HEAP of gratitude, Robin, for turning me onto Cathe Friedrich! Genius!!!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
Good for you Tracy!
Is this Cathe Friedrich a video? Think I could get a little tone in 2 months? (that’s about how far away my cruise is, LOL!)
Thank you, Karma!!
Yes, DVDs (also, can get the workouts as downloads for computer, iPad, etc.). I think you could, actually and then, you’d be well on your way to a hot summer bod!!
As I tell everyone, I haven’t tried her cardio workouts (I do the elliptical). I have two DVDs…Basic Step & Body Fusion (I DON’T do the step routines but there are 3 fantastic add-on’s: 20-min Upper Body toning (fitness band and free weights), 20-min Lower Body (fitness band, free weights and step) and a 10-min quick abs routine (with or w/o stability ball…highly recommend stability ball). The second DVD is Core Max and contains (3) separate, 20-minute ab workouts: no equipment, stability ball, and medicine ball/stability ball.
I don’t do the upper body and lower body routines on the same day. Try to get 2 days each of these in a week. I try to get 1 each of the ab workouts in (so 4 per week) and I do elliptical 4 days per week.
That is wonderful, M.P.! Congratulations!
I can tell you could totally kick my butt!
Ha! Thanks so much, Sig!!
Eh, no worries there. I’m a lover not a fighter.
You look awesome! I definitely heart female muscles too. You do them proud and well!
Aw, thanks. Amy!
You should as you also do them proud!!! Hugs.
One year already? You look so good, congratulations! Did you train EVERY day? or almost? We should see a before and after photo, to be inspired. And have the “recipe” of course.
Yes, one year! And not an easy one, no ma’am. I remember every mile, every crunch, every squat, every rep!
I started off slowly…2-3 days/week but now, I try to do something 5-6 days per week, with 3 of them being intensive and the others are more fill-in days (extra cardio minutes if needed, weight training, abs, etc.). Sorry, there will not be any before/after photos. I am so very careful about what I post! I tend to be very private and guard my personal life carefully, only revealing just enough to get you all interested. I am, afterall, a lady.
But, I will say that I owe much of my fit physique to (1), my elliptical and (2), the weight training and ab workouts on my DVDs by Cathe Friedrich. Somehow, the combination has whipped my butt into shape and I am loving it!
It is what continues to motivate me.
Thanks so much for your kind comment, Birgitte! Every once in awhile I do so appreciate an ‘attagirl’! (i.e., praise or commendation given, often unofficially, to a female).
Hugs.
Tell me what this means? You’ve been fit for a year? How did you know when you were “fit”? Would love to celebrate something similar.
Hi Tammy! Allow me to explain.
One year ago, I made a committment to fitness. What sparked this idea? Well, the day before I had had a physical and could no longer deny the extra pounds nor the elevated LDL. There they were in stark black and white. At the time, I set a goal of 16-weeks (had to start with something reasonable) and, depsite breaking my foot 10 weeks in, continued day by day, doing cardio, then adding in upper/lower body weight training as well as core/abs training. When I reached the 16-week mark, I was seeing changes in muscle tone and strength that I never thought possible so I continued on, first making it to six months and then, eventually, one full year. I thought that was worthy of a celebration.
How do I know I am fit? Hmmmm, good question. Well, I just had my annual physical and my doctor couldn’t have been more pleased…weight is down (in fact, I got strict instruction to NOT lose any more lbs…still waiting on bloodwork but expect that to also be good). All I know is I love the way I look and feel and it motivates me to continue, especially on the difficult days. Yes, there are still difficult days!
I heard something recently that struck a chord with me. Something about, “It isn’t that folks lack motivation. What they lack is follow-through.” Looking at it from this side, I couldn’t agree more. Everyone has to find what works for them and then, stick to it.
I wish you good luck, Tammy and I look forward to reading about your ‘fit-iversary’!
