Looks like our yellow birdhouse has new residents! Though, what a day they picked to move in.

“Shelter from the Storm” (House Wren) Nikon D300, 600mm, F/4, 1/60s, ISO 640, SB900 w/Gary Fong Lightsphere Universal Cloud, -1.0EV

Undaunted by the weather, the male House Wren flew through the pouring rain with sticks and insects to build and stock the nest. Every once in awhile, he would stop to sing his “come hither” song for the females in the area. Didn’t take long for a smitten gal to join him in the construction. (She didn’t stand a chance…afterall, this is the nicest house on the block. 😉 )

I stayed as long as I could until the winds picked up and I thought it best to seek shelter myself!
