Today couldn’t be more picture-perfect. Lovely warm sunshine and a nice cooling breeze…just an all-around beautiful summer day! We needed it! 🙂

Earlier this year, it was necessary to replant one area of the garden after the deer enjoyed a night of feasting (grrrr!). One of the new perennials is a wonderful Black-eyed Susan named ‘Goldilocks’. You can’t beat Rudbeckia for its extraordinaarily sunny blooms and ‘Goldilocks’ is a double variety making for twice the impact!

"Goldilocks" (Rudbeckia 'Goldilocks' aka Black-eyed Susan) Nikon D300, 850mm (600mm w/1.4x teleconverter), F/9, 1/100s, -1.0EV, ISO 200

Not quite fully open, I like how the petals are tosseled and wild-looking…much like the golden tresses of Goldilocks herself. And as the story goes, this flower is just right!
