Can’t believe this is blooming now! (Centaurea montana usually blooms late-spring/early summer).

I saw no flowers then because some voracious critter chomped every single clump down to the surface of the soil – buds, leaves, stems and all!

So, imagine my surprise to see a solitary blossom this late in the season.

Attaboy! 😀
