In my many visits to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, I know I’ve passed by this Sorceror Mickey Topiary on numerous occasions, but never before noticed this unique photo perspective! 🙂

“Mickey Presents” (Sorceror Mickey Topiary, Disney’s Hollywood Studios) Nikon D300, 70mm, F/2.8, 1/3200s, ISO 200

  1. Haha… That sure is quite the shot… I don’t recall seeing this myself, but then it was quite a few years ago when I last went…

    • Thanks, Brian!

You should have seen the contortions I needed to go thru to get this shot! I imagine the folks walking by were wondering what the heck I was trying so hard to capture! The joke is on them! 🙂

  2. i like how mickey just kind of emerges from the tree in the background to direct you to the hollywood studios.

i don’t know if disneyworld has the same statue of mickey holding hands with walt disney as the one at disneyland (for some reason i think it is) but it is a very popular joke among the young patrons because of a very different effect of perspective: when viewed from the proper profile, mickey’s nose seems to jut out right from walt’s zippered region. there were many years when we couldn’t make the walk to frontierland without a quick glance back to see if walt was still as excited about his park. gotta give the guy credit for his endurance.

    • OMG! I never heard of that! Yes, there is the very same statue of Walt and Mickey but I am not sure if the same perspective exists.

Gives me something to look for on our next trip! 🙂

  3. That is cute, great composition

  4. How cute. Mickey looks so happy presenting Hollywood Studios! :)Very cool angle!

  5. I would have thought the folks at Disney would have planned it that way — funny!

    We’re planning a Disney trip for Feb… I haven’t been in 30 years… I hear a few things have changed since then…

    • I wouldn’t put it past them, Christine!

How fun! YOU will LOVE it! If you have any questions or are looking for any tips, feel free to ask! 🙂

  6. Those contortions certainly produced the perfect shot!

    • Ha! Thanks, Michaela! (gotta get my exercise in somehow!) 🙂

  7. Did Edward Scissorhands create that?

  8. Sure brings back some fond memories. Just to let u know, I submitted an entry in the Disney memories site. Check it out. Love & Kisses

  9. Ta Da! Good eye, Tracy!

  10. That made me laugh out loud! Excellent positioning and the topiary is brilliantly done too.
    Great photo Tracy 🙂

  11. This lovely picture makes me think of my visit to Disneyland and Universal Studios in L.A., when I spent 3 weeks with my family in California, Nevada and Arizona in 1995 😉

    • Aw, I’m so glad I was able to evoke a happy memory for you! Thanks! 🙂
