When I was a kid, seeing the Indian Corn on the door meant the Thanksgiving holiday was imminent. It still means the same thing to me today.

The turkey is brining in the fridge and the pumpkin pie is all set. Just a few more preparations to go for our holiday feast tomorrow. I can’t wait!

Chances are, we’ll eat too much and fall asleep on the sofa, but we’ll also remember how fortunate and thankful we are, for the roof over our heads, the clothes on our back, the people in our lives and the love in our hearts.

This will surely be a happy Thanksgiving!

It has been a long time coming, but finally, we are enjoying the sweet Roma Grape Tomatoes from our garden! For months it seems all we’ve had are bundles of green globules desperately waiting for the heat of summer, which, sadly only arrived a few weeks ago. In any event, I’ll take it!

Now, I am not what you’d call a die-hard vegetable gardener (our patch is quite small) but, I’ll admit there is nothing like harvesting your own food. We eat these delights straight off the vine or roasted on the grill with a bit of garlic infused olive oil, sea salt and pepper – yum!

Now if only the eggplants would mature…
