It’s either the spooky season or the abundance of rain we’ve had lately, but these guys are popping up all over the yard. Had to snap this shot today because tomorrow, they’ll all become victims of the lawnmower!

Mwahahahahaha!

“Three Toadstools” (Toadstools) Nikon D300, 105mm, F/6.3, 1/500s, ISO 640

When the rose is faded, memory may still dwell on
Her beauty shadowed, and the sweet smell gone.

That vanishing loveliness, that burdening breath,
No bond of life hath then, nor grief of death.

Fade to Twilight

"Fade to Twilight" (David Austin English Rose 'Tamora') Nikon D300, 105mm, F/3.5, 1/1000s, -0.3EV, ISO 400

‘Tis the immortal thought whose passion still
Makes the changing the unchangeable.

Oh, thus thy beauty, loveliest on earth to me,
Dark with no sorrow, shines and burns, with thee.

“Red Cascadia” (Autumn Leaves on Fence) Nikon D300, 105mm, F/6.3, 1/50s, -0.3EV, ISO 400

After spending a week away amid palm trees, goofy characters and wild animals, I thought it would be difficult to find photographic inspiration back here at home.

Wrong!

Although I am admittedly not an autumn person, you simply cannot be unimpressed by the stunning beauty of the changing foliage.

I am so glad I didn’t miss it!
